Outside of a surprise Will Smith signing by the Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers and the rest of the league is currently in the planning stage of the off-season. The GM meetings passed where front-office executives from around the league meet and plant seeds for trade discussions that could pick up later in the off-season. Many teams are also doing background work on players they could pursue via free agency or trades.
It has been a while since the Dodgers made a bold off-season move. Sure they traded away Yasiel Puig, Alex Wood, and Matt Kemp last off-season but that was more about trimming the fat off the roster although the Dodgers did land two top prospects in the deal.
