Dodgers Roster: Hyun-Jin Ryu Accepts Qualifying Offer, Yasmani Grandal Declines

Lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu decided to accept the Dodgers‘ $17.9 million qualifying offer on Monday afternoon, prospectively setting Los Angeles up with one of the most formidable starting rotations in the National League.

Jon Heyman was among the first to report the news not long before the 5:00 PM Eastern deadline. Team officials confirmed the initial reports on Twitter a few hours later.

During the 2018 regular season, Ryu made 15 starts and posted a 9-7 record, leading the entire club with a 1.97 ERA. He was instrumental in holding the staff together for the first few weeks of the season after the rotation suffered numerous injuries, and he made a brilliant comeback after severely ripping a groin muscle in late April.
