Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Places Fourth In 2019 National League Manager Of The Year Voting

Despite guiding the Los Angeles Dodgers to a franchise record 106 wins, Dave Roberts was not among the finalists for 2019 National League Manager of the Year. The trio instead comprised of Craig Counsell of the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt, and the Atlanta Braves’ Brian Snitker.

Shildt was named NL Manager of the Year, receiving 10 first-place votes and 95 overall points. He’s the first Manager of the Year Award winner who did not play on the professional level and the eighth to never have played in the Majors.

Counsell garnered the most first-place votes (13), making it just the second time a Manager of the Year winner did not lead in that category.
