The Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back from consecutive losses and earned a series split with the Seattle Mariners behind a 1-0 victory effectively thanks to Corey Seager, Julio Urias, Victor Gonzalez and Kenley Jansen.
Heading into the afternoon matchup at T-Mobile Park, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the responsibility was on Urias to get the team off to a strong start. He accomplished exactly that in what wound up being a pitcher’s duel against Marco Gonzales.
Urias held the Mariners to just one hit — an infield single — and set a career high with 11 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings.
