Dodgers claim J.T. Chargois off waivers from Twins

PHOENIX — The Dodgers claimed relief pitcher J.T. Chargois off waivers from the Minnesota Twins on Friday, adding another bullpen option to the mix.

There are now 64 players in major league camp for the Dodgers, including 33 pitchers. One of those pitchers, Julio Urias, was placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Chargois on the 40-man roster.

Urias is still recovering from left shoulder surgery last June and isn’t expected to be ready to contribute until after the All-Star break.

Chargois was drafted by Minnesota in the second round in 2012 out of Rice and pitched 25 games in relief for the Twins in 2016, posting a 4.
