Dodgers 2020 Regular Season Schedule Update: Opening Series Against Giants No Longer Includes Off Day

The Los Angeles Dodgers kick off the 2020 season with a three-game series against the rival San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. The Opening Day matchup will be nationally televised on ESPN as part of a tripleheader, with first pitch at 1 p.m. PT on Thursday, March 26.

While the preliminary 2020 schedule called for the Dodgers to be off the following day, the three-game set will now resume on Friday, March 27, as opposed to Saturday, March, 28. Thus, L.A. and San Francisco now play Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Dodgers changed course after ESPN decided to pick up the Chicago Cubs-Milwaukee Brewers matchup as its Sunday Night Baseball telecast.
