Clippings: The Clippers are in a hurry to fix their transition defense

Ty Lue is an offensive-minded coach. He’s one of the more creative play-callers on that end of the floor and has shepherded some of the more devastating offenses in recent postseason history.

And yet, even though Lue is itching to expand the team’s offensive playbook as much as possible before the season starts, the Clippers coach had to concede that something else had become priority no. 1 after the preseason: transition defense.

The Clippers are currently last in the league after allowing 25.8 fast-break points per game during the preseason, a full five points worse than the 29th-ranked team.
