According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are scheduled to interview Colts defensive backs coach Jonathan Gannon for their defensive coordinator position.
Gannon has been in charge of the secondary in Indianapolis for the past three seasons and most recently built a group of defensive backs that recorded 13 total interceptions (four returned for touchdowns), including five different players who record at least two.
Prior to joining the Colts, Gannon spent four years (2014-2017) with the Vikings as assistant defensive backs/quality control coach. In his final two campaigns in Minnesota, he helped the unit land among the top-three, including the 2017 season where they finished as the number one defense in the NFL — the first time since 1993 — and allowed just 275.
