Chargers ink third-round pick WR Josh Palmer

The Chargers made it official on Friday afternoon as third-round draft pick Josh Palmer put pen to paper today to become the second of the team’s nine drafts picks to sign his rookie contract. Second-round pick Asante Samuel Jr. became the first pick to sign in early May.

Palmer was the Bolts’ first of two third-round picks this year out of the University of Tennessee. Tight end Tre’ McKitty would be picked later in the round out of Florida State.

As a rookie, Palmer figures to contend for playing time alongside the likes of Jalen Guyton and Tyron Johnson, both of which stood out in complementary roles to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
