Chargers coach Anthony Lynn supports Colin Kaepernick, would consider working him out

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said Wednesday that if one of his team’s three quarterbacks became unavailable, strong consideration would go to working out Colin Kaepernick as a potential replacement.

Lynn, who noted Kaepernick led the 2012 San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl, said he believes Kaepernick’s hybrid skill set would fit the offense he plans for the 2020 season and that the QB’s “high IQ at the position” would allow him to adapt fast despite not having played since the 2016 season.

The coach said a rigorous workout would be critical in evaluating Kaepernick’s readiness after three years of not playing.
