Michael Owen is putting the finishing touches to his preparation ahead of making his official bow as a jockey and riding out at Ascot for the first time.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United man has swapped the world of football for the saddle and has been training since the summer in order to get to grips with life on the track and a venture into the unknown.
After months of preparation the ex-England international will ride out at Ascot on Friday, taking part in the seven-furlong Prince's Countryside Fund charity event.
It has been a grueling build up for Owen, who has had to shed over a stone in order to meet the specific weight requirements for the event.
