The Raiders officially announced their name change at a press conference on Wednesday, and their first act as the Las Vegas Raiders was to donate $500,000 in an effort to eliminate school lunch debt in the state of Nevada.
Every year, young students across the nation in low-income families need help to afford basic school necessities, and the federal government has started the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs in an effort to aid young students in need. But these federally-assisted programs can only do so much, and donations like this can make a big difference in the lives of many children.
