The Las Vegas coaching staff and front office inevitably placed unrealistic expectations on Clelin Ferrell from the start.
The then-Oakland Raiders made a huge splash during the offseason after the 2017 NFL season, bringing Jon Gruden out of retirement. Gruden, who had led the Raiders into being one of the best teams in the NFL in his first go-around, made some immediate splashes, including one that involved a young, future Hall of Famer.
