LEXINGTON — Change could be coming to the Kentucky basketball starting lineup.
“I opened up practice and said, ‘If anybody wants to start, go dominate,’” Kentucky coach John Calipari said on his radio show Monday. “You know what happens? We had a couple guys who haven’t started that have moved into a starting position.”
Calipari’s comments came two days after the Hall of Fame coach was roundly criticized for defending his decision to not start Dontaie Allen and Jacob Toppin in the second half of the game at Auburn despite their standout first half performances by saying, “I want to win every game we coach, but the other side of it is I’m not trying to take anybody’s heart away.
