In a standout 26-point, 5-rebound, 2-assist, 1-steal performance, Maxey proved his status as a consensus top-15 prospect and five-star recruit.
After the game, Maxey caught up with Andy Katz of NCAA.com, with the freshman guard standout saying he is focused on one thing and one thing only this season: helping Kentucky win basketball games.
“I try not to worry about it, I try to focus on the game,” Maxey said. “I just want to go out there and help my team win. That’s what I ended up doing.
“Whatever it took to win,” the UK freshman continued.
