For the first time since Mark Stoops became Kentucky’s head coach, every single true freshman will redshirt. It’s not because they aren’t good enough to play.
J.J. Weaver played so well against Vanderbilt, Mark Stoops wishes he could have given the true freshman more live reps earlier in the season.
“I’m not going to burn his year now, but we probably could have played him so more if you look at the way he’s progressed the last three or four weeks,” Stoops said. “We’re trying to be strategic and not be selfish or wasteful with the young man’s year with where we’re at right now.
