Former Kentucky coach Eddie Sutton to be inducted into basketball hall of fame

Former University of Kentucky basketball coach Eddie Sutton will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this year, according to the Oklahoman.

Sutton, who won 806 games in his 37-year coaching career, coached at Kentucky from from 1985-89 and went 90-40 in his time. He resigned in 1989 while Kentucky was been under investigation by the NCAA.

Sutton coached in three Final Fours, two at Oklahoma State, and is the only coach with at least 800 victories not to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

His career wasn't without controversy, though. His legacy at Kentucky was tarnished by NCAA infractions.
