Former Royal Damon debuts on HOF ballot

Damon, a first-round Draft pick by the Royals in 1992, played on some explosive offensive teams in the late 1990s. He was a Royal from 1995-2000.

Damon finished his career with 2,769 hits and 408 stolen bases, and should get some consideration on the ballot.

Damon's best year with the Royals came in 2000 when he hit .327 with a career-high .382 on-base percentage. He led the American League that season in stolen bases (46) and runs scored (136).

In his six years with the Royals, Damon hit .292 with a .351 on-base percentage and 156 stolen bases.
