Chiefs injury report: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Steven Nelson still in concussion protocol

Two key members of the Kansas City Chiefs roster remain somewhere in the league’s concussion protocol after suffering unfortunate head injuries in recent days and weeks. Both starting right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and cornerback Steven Nelson once again missed practice on Tuesday with no real idea of when they might return.

Nelson took a hard blow to the head during the Chiefs most recent preseason game as he attempted to make a play on a leaping Atlanta Falcons receiver. He was immediately taken out of the game when it was clear he’d hit his head, and head coach Andy Reid confirmed after the game that he’d suffered a concussion.
