Sweden can ‘go very far’ in the World Cup, says former goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli

The Swedes defeated South Korea 1-0 in their opening game of the tournament, and the ex-international believes they can go deep in the tournament

Sweden have the potential to go deep into the 2018 World Cup, according to former goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli.

This is Sweden’s first World Cup appearance since 2006, and beat South Korea 1-0 in their first outing in this year's tournament.

They qualified through the play-off rounds for the World Cup, after finishing in second behind France, but ahead of Netherlands, in their qualifying group.

The Swedes went on to defeat Italy 1-0 on aggregate in their play-off encounter to advance to this summer’s competition in Russia, and Ravelli believes they have the ability to pull up a few trees.
