Colts linebacker Darius Leonard will miss the start of training camp after having a procedure on his ankle in early June, Colts general manager Chris Ballard announced Monday.
Leonard was dealing with a nagging injury, according to Ballard, and the Colts decided to get it fixed so it wasn't a problem during the season.
Leonard is entering his fourth season, putting him in position to sign a contract extension. Owner Jim Irsay said the team is interested in extending the two-time All-Pro player last week; the ankle injury is not expected to have an impact on those negotiations.
