Colts coach Frank Reich on George Floyd: 'Racism is vile, deplorable, detestable'

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich opened his weekly news conference on Monday with a prepared statement, penned in the wake of the killing of George Floyd last week in Minnesota and the protests that have erupted across the country.

Reich watched the video of Floyd’s death last week, spoke with the Colts about it on Thursday, along with general manager Chris Ballard, and says he’s spent the weekend reaching out to people and players, often asking what he should say or what he should do.

The coach felt that he needed to address the situation directly Monday, becoming the second NFL head coach — after Dolphins coach Brian Flores — to do so.
