Hoosiers Set Stolen Base Record, Clinch Series Against Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Softball broke a 30-year program record for single-season stolen bases on the way to clinching the series against Penn State on Saturday, winning game two of the weekend, 4-1. IU stole four bases in the win, improving the season total to 95. The previous high was 91 set in 1988.

The win means the Hoosiers have now won four of their five Big Ten series as IU improves to 12-2 in conference action, maintaining second place behind Michigan.

IU saw base hits from six different Hoosiers, led by multi-hit outings for junior Sarah Galovich and sophomores Gabbi Jenkins and Katie Lacefield.
