SAINT LOUIS – Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Smith earned MVC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season following standout performances against Marquette and Miami (Ohio).
Smith posted two clean sheets in a row for the week. She earned her third shutout of the season on Friday night against then-No. 19 Marquette, tallying six saves on the match. The Redbirds tied the Golden Eagles, 0-0, in a double overtime match. Her fourth shutout came Sunday afternoon with the 1-0 win over Miami (Ohio) where she tallied five saves between the pipes.
