NORMAL, Ill. – Taking the field for the final time before Saturday's annual fall Red-White Scrimmage, the Illinois State football team went through a quick and crisp workout at Hancock Stadium on Friday. Saturday's intra squad scrimmage signals the end of fall camp for the Redbirds, who will turn their attention to prepping for the Sept. 1 season-opener against Saint Xavier beginning next Tuesday.

Red-White Scrimmage Rundown:
• It will be offense vs. defense in Saturday's 4 p.m. scrimmage at Hancock Stadium, as the offense wearing red jerseys will square off against the defense in their white jerseys with no score being kept
• Following a quick stretch and warmup, the scrimmage will officially begin with the first-team kickoff unit taking the field for a live kickoff
• Beginning at its own 34-yard line, the first team offense will attempt to drive the field against the second-team defense for a series, followed by the second-team offense taking on the first-team defense on the next drive with the third team units then getting a crack at it
• Two live punts will follow, with the first and second-team units each getting a chance to cover or return punts
• Starting at their own 42-yard line once again, the same three series will attempt to drive the field once again followed by two more live punt sessions
• The teams will then take a quick halftime water break and turn over the field to the Big Red Marching Machine, who will play for the fans in attendance while the team gets a breather
• Following the band's performance, the second-team kickoff unit will begin the second half with a kickoff of its own
• The team will then go into a 2-minute period starting on the offense's 27 yard line, with the first two groups squaring off before the third unit attempts to drive the field
• The final situation of the day will be overtime work with each unit getting a crack at the endzone
