Illinois State senior forward Phil Fayne has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball.
In ISU’s overtime win over Cleveland State, Fayne scored a career-high 30 points in Sunday's overtime win over Cleveland State. He made 11 of 14 shots from the field and 8 of 9 free throws. His two free throws with 1.6 seconds remaining sent the game into overtime. Fayne also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots.
The 6-foot-9 Fayne is averaging 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the field (66-of-120).
