PEORIA, Ill. -- Playing its fourth match in less than 36 hours, Bradley Volleyball came out a little sluggish but recovered to top Grand Canyon 19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-23 Saturday night at Renaissance Coliseum to claim the 2017 CEFCU Invitational title with a perfect 4-0 record.
The Braves (7-7 overall) had not played four matches in a two-day span since 2009 and were the only team in the tournament to play four times. After sweeping the first three matches of the CEFCU Invite, Bradley needed to rally after dropping the opening set for the victory as the Braves own a four-match win streak for the first time since 2013 and won four matches in a two-day span for the first time since the 1985 campaign.
