LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Idaho women's tennis advanced to the second and third rounds of the 2018 ITA Mountain Region Championship at the Fertitta Tennis Complex at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Thursday.
Marianna Petrei, seeded number first and nationally ranked 20th in the nation, edged out Jana Weiss of Southern Utah, while doubles teammate Maria Tavares, who was seeded as 12th, defeated Anya Lamoreaux of Utah in the second round of singles. Both moved on to the third round of action.
Tavares took a loss in singles against Colorado State's Emily Luetschwager, while Petrei advances on the bracket as she defeated Tatum Burger of Denver.
