@IdahoWTennis Competes at ITA Mountain Region Championships

LAS VEGAS, Nev.— Idaho women's tennis moves on in singles and double action on day one of the ITA Mountain Region Championships on Wednesday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the University of Las Vegas Nevada campus.

More than 125 women student-athletes, 22 western programs, are taking to the court within the next four days, on 12 courts to compete in both singles and doubles.

In the singles, senior Marianna Petrei, seeded first and ranked 20th in the nation, swept Meredith Laskey of the Air Force 6-0, 6-0; Shion Watabe defeated New Mexico's Yuelin Chen, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6; and 12th seeded Maria Tavares edged Nadeen Lieberman of Air Force 6-2, 6-1.
