The Houston Texans have been participating in OTAs the past couple weeks, and one of the players going through that process for the very first time is fifth-round draft pick Charles Omenihu from the University of Texas.
Omenihu has the size and weight to play in the NFL as the defensive end is 6-5 and weighs 280 pounds, but there is work to be done, and one coach on the Texans — defensive coordinator/assistant head coach Romeo Crennel — spoke about the rookie defensive end earlier this week.
In transcripts provided by HoustonTexans.com, Crennel said Omenihu has work to do but could make a contribution this season:
“Well, like I said, he’s got some height, he’s got some strength, and he’s got quickness.
