Houston Texans add cornerback Cornell Armstrong to 53-man roster

The Houston Texans continue to tweak their 53 man roster prior to their season opener against the New Orleans Saints and added cornerback Cornell Armstrong to the secondary. Texans agreed to a deal after Armstrong went unclaimed through the NFL waiver wire on Sunday afternoon.

The move was announced according to Armstrong’s agent Brett Tessler after he was cut by the Miami Dolphins. Armstrong was selected by the Dolphins in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft but was part of the wave of players that were released as NFL teams got to their roster of 53 before the deadline set by the NFL.
