Zhaire Smith of Texas Tech was selected 16th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft, but he won't stay in the desert.
It was reported that the Suns agreed to trade Smith and their 2021 Miami first-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for Mikal Bridges.
The 6-5 freshman guard averaged 11.3 points, five rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Red Raiders last season. He helped lead Texas Tech to the Elite Eight.
Smith is the latest step in "the process" for Philadelphia, who was eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals this past season.
