Should Rockets hold on to Eric Gordon or help get him to a contender?

Eric Gordon is entering his sixth season with the Rockets, making him the longest-tenured member of the team. I've called him one of the best free agent signings in modern Rockets history.

For a sixth straight season, Gordon, who turns 33 in December, will play whatever role is asked of him. This time, it's not just out of position, but as the veteran presence on a rebuilding team that just drafted several teenagers. In Houston's preseason opener against the Wizards, the 6-foot-3 Gordon started at small forward, a role he played during the 2019-2020 season. But Gordon clearly does not fit the franchise's timeline.
