Rockets to release Ryan Anderson

The Rockets will waive forward/center Ryan Anderson, ending his second stint with the team, after he did not receive any playing time when the team was severely shorthanded last week.

Two individuals with knowledge of the decision confirmed the move.

Anderson played just 14 minutes in two early season games this year, but did not play in either game center Clint Capela missed last week because of a concussion. Anderson had been working as a center in the Rockets' offense, but with Capela out, center Isaiah Hartenstein and forward Gary Clark received their first minutes of the season.
