Rockets' James Harden named Western Conference Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE — Rockets guard James Harden on Monday was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Harden averaged 44.3 points on 50 percent shooting and 52.8 percent 3-point shooting as the Rockets went 3-1.

With 177 points in 145 minutes played last week he moved closer to joining Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to average a point per minute played (with a minimum of 50 minutes) since minutes have been tracked beginning with the 1951-52 season. Harden has scored 2,545 points in 2,604 minutes played. Chamberlain scored 4,029 in 1961-62, the season he played an average of 48.
