Rockets guard Chris Paul credits group effort for competitive All-Star Game

When NBA commissioner Adam Silver made his annual comments to the media at the All-Star game, he began by thanking Rockets guard Chris Paul for his work in creating the revised team selection format, a change widely credited as one of the reasons for a more competitive All-Star game. Paul, however, cited the group effort, rather than his own influence.

“I don’t know,” Paul, the president of the players’ association, said of his reaction to Silver’s praise. “That’s not why we do the things that we do or we came to that decision. It was myself, Michele (Roberts, the executive director of the NBPA), Adam, Michael Jordan (who is the head of the NBA labor relations committee.
