The Rockets' once-longshot free agency pursuit of Warriors forward Andre Iguodala nearly moved to a done deal before Iguodala decided to remain with the NBA champions, according to an ESPN report on Wednesday.
Iguodala had been swayed by a two-hour meeting that a person close to Iguodala told ESPN was "the best recruiting presentation of all time."
With the trade for Chris Paul complete four days earlier, the Rockets gave Iguodala their full recruiting effort, with owner Leslie Alexander, president Tad Brown, general manager Daryl Morey, vice president Gersson Rosas and coach Mike D'Antoni selling the idea of playing for the Rockets and in the system D'Antoni had installed.
