Dynamo center back Leonardo has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries during his eight-year MLS career so it was significant last weekend when he surpassed 2,000 minutes of playing time.
It is only the second time he has done it.
Selected by the Dynamo in stage two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft in December after the LA Galaxy declined the option on his contract, Leonardo hoped to claim a big role with his new team.
He knew he would not be able to do that unless he performed well during the preseason. Luckily for the Brazilian, that's exactly what happened.
