SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors hear the persistent talk of tanking and, while they acknowledge the harsh reality of a rebuilding season, their day-to-day goals remain the same.
Having lost five-straight games, the Warriors (2-10) own the league’s worst record. Going into Friday’s matchup against the Boston Celtics, they haven’t won a game in 10 days. Even with the season’s priority being player development, it can be difficult for a team to keep perspective during a stretch such as this, especially as fans and media pitch the idea of tanking.
“Oh, I know the players are aware of that kind of talk,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before Wednesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
