Shaun Livingston got it right when he said upon his retirement from the NBA on Friday that “I wasn’t supposed to be here.”
A point guard with tremendous size, length, smarts and potential, Livingston was just coming into his own with the Clippers when he suffered a horrific knee injury. Not only did he recover, he capped his unlikely NBA journey with a Warriors team that went to five consecutive NBA Finals, winning three.
He stepped away from the game in an Instagram post.
After 15 years in the NBA, I’m excited, sad, fortunate and grateful all in one breath.
