FSU football: Coaches looking to close the gap on 2022 recruiting

One of the pitfalls of FSU football changing coaches twice since 2017 is having to bring in transitional recruiting classes.

Those are classes that are basically patched together, a combination of recruits that decided to stay and most recruits that choose not to sign early.

That translates to a lot of elite players not being available and having to settle for options B, C, and D most of the time.

Those types of classes usually are not fruitful, in fact, five players from the 2018 recruiting class have already separated from the program. That’s 24 percent of the class already gone.
