Florida State Seminoles coach Willie Taggart confirmed Thursday that redshirt freshman defensive end Tre Lawson is no longer with the program. Lawson did not make the trip with the team to Bradenton for its camp at IMG Academy. He had a scrap in practice last week with offensive tackle Jauan Williams. Taggart made Williams and Lawson walk off the field holding hands.
Lawson never contributed at FSU. He was not expected to contribute this season, according to sources. He had an interesting recruitment.
FSU was the first FBS program to offer Lawson, but his first commitment was to Tennessee while on an unofficial visit in Knoxville last June.
