Flyers score four in the second, blast Panthers 5-1

Whatever positives the Florida Panthers built up over the first five games of the season disappeared in sea of red lights as the Philadelphia Flyers scored four times in a fifteen span during the second period en route to an easy 5-1 victory.

After a well-played first period, that saw the Cats out-shoot the Flyers 15-12, the wheels fell off the bus early in the second as both Mark Pysyk and Jared McCann vacated the front of the net, leaving Sean Couturier all kinds of time and space to receive Jakub Voracek’s pass and solve Roberto Luongo. Claude Giroux picked up the secondary assist on the goal, which came at the 1:05 mark.
