SEC extends suspension of athletics into May

The Southeastern Conference has suspended all in-person activities through at least May 31.

The SEC had previously suspended all in-person activity through April 15 but extended that period on Friday as the country continues to deal with COVID-19.

This includes practice, meetings, organized gatherings ¬— voluntary or mandatory — based on public health advisories related to continuing developments with coronavirus.

Earlier this week the SEC reversed a ruling that prohibited virtual contact pertaining to football. This new ruling will allow coaches to contact players and review film, hold meetings and go over schemes for up to four hours per week.
