FRISCO -- FC Dallas' goal Saturday night was to score first against the Seattle Sounders, then keep a clean sheet.
They accomplished half of that, keeping the Sounders from scoring but unable to score themselves in a scoreless draw. It was a much better performance than the team's recent games but still extends the squad's winless run to nine matches.
"I thought the game tactically and defensively was very good for us. That, at least, is a big step forward with a team that was dropping not just points but (had) performances where we felt very fragile at the back and today we felt different," coach Oscar Pareja said.
