We have a small way of assessing every Duke basketball team each fall and it’s very simple.
After the first couple of games we ask ourselves, selves? Who do we miss.
Did we miss Jabari Parker? No.
Did we miss Justise Winslow? No.
Did we miss Grayson Allen? No. Marvin Bagley? No. Wendell Carter? No.
It’s no insult to any of those guys but the point of the exercise is very simple: if someone is missed, then the team has a problem to solve.
Over the years we haven’t missed many people. The last guy who we thought was irreplaceable was Tyus Jones.
