DURHAM, N.C. – After close to three weeks of preseason prep, the 2017 Duke volleyball team is primed for its season opener Friday, Aug. 25 at Colorado State.
Entering her 19th season at the program’s helm, head coach Jolene Nagel added four newcomers – freshman middle blocker Summer Brown, freshman outside hitter Payton Schwantz, freshman defensive specialist Kincey Smith and junior setter Haley Seyfarth -- to a nucleus that includes nine returning letterwinners from 2016’s 21-9 squad. One of the ACC’s most consistent programs during Nagel’s tenure, Duke has advanced to 12 NCAA Tournaments under Nagel’s guidance while registering 14 seasons of 20 or more wins.
