The Duke basketball one-and-done era has increased the turnover rate. As a result, the total quantity of players this decade was roughly 50 percent greater than in previous decades, posing a hurdle when selecting the latest all-decade team.
The quality of players poses another hurdle.
In deciding the players to comprise the decade’s super squad, I drew upon my lifelong study of all things Duke basketball with one goal: constructing a team to win a hypothetical national championship. Length of stay in college and missed games due to injury didn’t factor into my decisions (I judged each player by only his best moments as a Blue Devil).
