AUSTRIA – Duke University senior women’s golfer Virginia Elena Carta saw her play at the 2018 European Ladies’ Team Championship in Austria with her home country of Italy come to an end in the bronze medal match.
In the individual stroke play the first two days, Carta turned in rounds of 69 and 70 on her way to placing tied 10th overall with a five-under, 139. She missed only six greens over the 36 holes. Carta, who hails from Udine, Italy, was the highest Italian golfer in stroke play qualifying with the closest being Roberta Liti (140).
