The Blue Devils came out of the gate fast against 8th ranked Michigan State in the Champions Classic to the tune of a 13-3 lead. Duke played suffocating defense and hit well on the offensive end – the unfortunate part is that it only lasted 5 minutes before the bottom seemed to fallout. The Blue Devils missed 5 straight shots and MSU climbed back into the game. Duke was able to again build a lead at 23-15 but again the Blue Devils went stagnant offensively and Michigan State turned it up a notch on both ends. The Spartans turned an 8 point deficit to a 4 point halftime lead and really never looked back.
